Arista and Jake met on top of a Tibetan mountain while they were separately traveling abroad. That might take the cake in terms of “how we met” stories, right? However, it doesn’t surprise me that these two traveled to the other side of the world and ended up finding each other, because if two people were ever supposed to find each other, even after traveling days by plane and after climbing a mountain, it is these two. Jake and Arista just make sense together, and they are two of the sweetest, most down-to-earth people you’ll ever meet.

Arista and Jake were married last fall at her parents’ home, which sits north of Cheyenne and has excellent views of the blue Wyoming sky and prairie. Arista decided on a simple, elegant country theme, creating homemade signs on pallets and setting floral combinations of sunflowers and sage-colored details atop wine and whiskey barrels.

It wouldn’t be a Wyoming wedding without a little weather, so Cheyenne showed up with a huge thunder cloud and a downpour right as the ceremony was about to start. The guests remained dry and happy with cocktails and conversation inside the reception tent while we waited out the weather. Sunshine came back shortly thereafter, and it was, yet again, a bluebird September day. Liz and I were extremely happy to have Casey Muller on site with Pink Diamond Events, as she kept everyone calm and made a game plan to wait it out so the couple could still have the beautiful outdoor ceremony they had planned.

All in all, Arista and Jake’s wedding day was a joyful one surrounded by wonderful people in a gorgeous setting. Liz and I were so honored to have been a part of it. Congrats you two!
