This gorgeous wedding at the T.A. Moulton Barn was such a treat. We feel so lucky to have had a few Grand Teton weddings this year. This year was full of our kind of couples. These couples are bucking tradition in favor of a wedding day that has actual meaning for them. I've been photographing weddings for about 7 years. Over the years, I've seen a lot of couples doing what they think they are supposed to do on a wedding day. Often, they are going through the motions rather than tailoring a wedding day to fit who they are as people.

Dannyl and Andrew did the opposite. They planned a dream wedding at the T.A. Moulton Barn on Mormon Row, at least in my book. Camping, the Tetons, all their closest family and friends, a pizza truck (seriously, you have to see this!) and s'mores for dessert. These are my people, folks, right here. This wedding was an adventure for everyone Dannyl and Andrew brought along with them. What better way for people to bond and celebrate together than around the campfire under the stars?

Reserving the T.A. Molton Barn For a Wedding

Planning a Grand Teton wedding can be tricky. When I first received a call from Dannyl and Andrew, they told me they were waiting to send out invitations until they could reserve one of the group sites in the Colter Bay Campground at Grand Teton National Park. Reservations for the upcoming season weren't open until January 2nd, and they weren't sure which (if any) site they'd be able to reserve.

To reserve the T.A. Moulton Barn wedding area, visit the Grand Teton National Park website for this location. The site is limited to a two hour window and 40 guests maximum. I believe they've shifted the ceremony location to the south of the barn now, to protect the historic nature of the barn and still allow visitors to see it during ceremony times. Reservations for the barn open up in December prior to each New Year, and they go quickly. Couples are required to reserve sites, rather than a third party like a wedding planner, so be sure you do this part yourself.

Dannyl and Andrew have two boys who love to be outside and camp, so this was a perfect destination wedding for them. They brought a handful of their closest family members and friends to watch their marriage at the T.A. Moulton Barn. The judge who married them seemed to have been in Jackson well before the gold and glitter arrived. Afterward, they and their guests went back to the campsite to be welcomed by the Lucca Truck, a fabulous pizza truck equipped with a wood burning stove and full-service kitchen.

We were so in love with everything about this day. Camp weddings? Yes. We've both decided we need more of these. In fact, Liz has decided that she might just change into a flannel at every reception from now on. 😉 Camp weddings are a perfect option for couples who want a Grand Teton wedding that actually highlights what Wyoming is all about. The T.A. Moulton Barn was also a perfect, low key setting for the ceremony.

Dannyl and Andrew, Liz and I feel like the luckiest photographers on the planet to have been the ones to document this amazing day. Thank you so much for giving us that honor. Congratulations to you and your wonderful boys!
